Hawaiian Rice Bowl
Ingredients:
3 cups rice (see Cedar Key Rice recipe)
¼ cup Cedar Key Garlic Sauce
1 cup sliced onions
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 cup sugar snap peas or snow peas
2 tbs. fresh chopped cilantro
8 – 10 oz. smoked pork or chicken
2 tbs. BBQ sauce, preferably not sweet (we recommend a vinegar/mustard-based barbeque sauce)
¼ cup fresh diced tomato
½ cup fresh diced pineapple
Make rice according to the Cedar Key Rice recipe. Sauté onions, mushrooms, and jalapeños together in olive oil. Divide the cooked rice in two bowls, add a layer of Cedar Key Garlic Sauce (approx. ¼ cup). Add the sautéed vegetables and top with chopped cilantro, smoked pork or chicken, BBQ Sauce, fresh diced tomato and pineapple. Add a final drizzle of the Cedar Key Garlic Sauce.
