Here are some of our favorite recipes.  Enjoy.

garlic sauceRecipe # 1: Cedar Key Garlic Herb Sauce

Ingredients: 1 cup of Original Kraft® Mayo, 1 cup Whole Gourmet Buttermilk, 2 tablespoons of Cedar Key Garlic Herb Seasoning

Directions: Wisk together and refrigerate one hour.  Pour into squeeze bottle and use as salad dressing, dipping sauce, on sandwiches, drizzle over your favorite casserole or on vegetables.

Recipe # 2: Cedar Key Garlic Herb Rice

Ingredients: 2 cups of water, 1 cup of rice, 1 heaping tablespoon of Cedar Key Garlic Herb Seasoning, tablespoon of butter or olive oil

Directions: Cook as package indicates (add the Spice to “liquid” before cooking)

 

cedar key spice cole slawRecipe # 3: Cedar Key Special Cole Slaw

Ingredients: Fresh cabbage (shred or diced), fresh cilantro (rough chop), sweet onion (sliced fine), jalapeno (sliced fine with or without seeds), Cedar Key Dressing

Directions: Prepare your vegetables ahead of time and keep chilled.  Five minutes before you are ready to eat, add enough Cedar Key Dressing to coat the vegetables and serve immediately.  NOTE: This recipe is meant to be crispy and fresh when served.

 

cedar key spice kids pastaRecipe # 4: Kid’s Buttered Pasta (Adults Love It Too!) 

Ingredients: Pasta, Original Cedar Key Spice Garlic Herb Seasoning, butter

Directions: Cook your favorite pasta as directed by the package.  Once it’s completely drained hold it to the side.  Next, take a large sauté pan over medium heat, place whole butter (as desired) and add the cooked pasta.  Sauté the pasta until it slightly browns; sprinkle a small amount of the Cedar Key Garlic Seasoning until you have the desired flavor.  NOTE: This works great with left over pasta.  It also works great when you add leftover grilled chicken, fried chicken or rotisserie chicken to the past.  You can even add your favorite cheese.

 

Recipe # 5: BLACK & BLUE SALAD  (ONE SERVING)

  • 4 Cups of Medium Chopped Romaine Hearts
  • 2 Tablespoons Chopped Fresh Basil
  • ½ Cup diced Tomatoes or Cherry Tomatoes
  • ¼ Cup Blue Cheese Crumbles
  • 1/8 Cup The Original Garlic Herb Sauce Dressing  (see recipe)
  • ½ (heaping) Cup of Sugar Snap Peas or Snow Peas cut in half
  • ¼ (heaping) Cup of Julianne sliced Onions
  • ¼ (heaping) thick sliced Mushrooms
  • 4 to 5 oz. of cooked Steak (sliced thin) we recommend Rib Eye
  • 1/8 cup of Balsamic Vinegar
  • Cedar Key Seasoning to Taste 

Season the steak with the Original Cedar Key Garlic Herb Seasoning to Sautee’ or Grill – hold warm until the salad is built.

In your favorite bowl or plate arrange the Romaine Lettuce, Basil, Tomatoes and Blue Cheese.  Top with dressing.

In a sautée pan, sautée quickly the Onions & Mushrooms until slightly wilted, then add the Sugar Snap Peas.  Cook slightly to keep them crisp.  Add the Balsamic Vinegar and reduce, approximately __ minutes.

Add the warm Mushrooms, Onions and Sugar Snap Peas then place on top of the salad.

Slice the Steak thinly and place on top of the sautéed veggies.   Garnish with more Blue Cheese, Tomatoes and Dressing.

 

Recipe # 6: BBQ PORK SANDWICH  (ONE SERVING)

  • Toasted Hoagie or Sub Roll
  • 4 oz. or more of “Smoked Pork”
  • Mustard/Vinegar base BBQ Sauce
  • 1 ½ Cups of Cole Slaw  ( See Recipe ) 

Toast the Hoagie with Butter Open Face

Place warm Pork in toasted Hoagie Roll and drizzle approximately 2 Tablespoons of BBQ Sauce over the Pork.

Add Cole Slaw on top of the Pork and drizzle another 2 Tablespoons of BBQ Sauce on top of the Coleslaw.  OMGosh!!!

 

Recipe # 7: CRABCAKE

  • 1 lb. Crab ( Jumbo Lump or Claw Meat)
  • 2 Tablespoons of  The Original Cedar Key Garlic Herb Seasoning
  • ½ Cup Panko Bread Crumbs
  • ¾ Cup Mayo 

Use a fork to lightly separate the Crab Meat, sprinkle with the Seasoning, toss lightly and add the Panko Bread Crumbs, then the Mayo.

Blend gently and form into the desired “cake” pat lightly in the remaining Panko Bread Crumbs coating the outside of the cake thoroughly. 

 

Recipe # 8: CHICKEN RICE BOWL (ONE SERVING) 

  • 1 ½ Cups Rice   ( See Cedar Key Rice Recipe)
  • 1/8 Cup Cedar Key Garlic Sauce 

Sauté the following three ingredients together in Olive Oil:

  • ½ Cup Sliced Onions
  • ½ Cup Sliced Mushrooms
  •  Tsp. Jalapenos (chopped fine) 
  • 1 TBS. Fresh Chopped Basil
  • 1/8 Cup Sweet Chili Sauce
  • 4 – 5 oz. Cooked Sliced Chicken
  • 1/8 Cup Fresh Diced Tomato
  • Garnish with Cedar Key Garlic Sauce using the Squeeze Bottle in the Starter Kit 

Place your serving of the cooked seasoned Rice in your favorite bowl.   Squirt a layer of the Cedar Key Garlic Sauce (approx. 1/8 Cup) or more if you desire.  Then add the layer of the sautéed vegetables.

Now place at layer of the Sweet Chili Sauce over top of the sautéed vegetables (approx. 1/8 Cup). Gently drop a layer of the fresh chopped Basil, top this with your cooked Chicken, and garnish with chopped Tomatoes and a final drizzle of the Cedar Key Garlic Sauce using the squeeze bottle in the Starter Kit to make a recommended “crisscross” pattern for a beautiful presentation.  Or, be creative and make your own design.

 

Recipe # 9: STEAK RICE BOWL (ONE SERVING) 

  • 1 ½ Cups Rice   ( See Cedar Key Rice Recipe)
  • 1/8 Cup Cedar Key Garlic Sauce 

Sauté the following three ingredients together in Olive Oil:

  • ½ Cup Sliced Onions
  • ½ Cup Sliced Mushrooms
  •  Tsp. Jalapenos (chopped fine) 
  • 1 TBS. Fresh Chopped Basil
  • 1/8 Cup Sweet Chili Sauce
  • 4 – 5 oz. Cooked Sliced Steak
  • 1/8 Cup Fresh Diced Tomato

Recipe # 10: HAWAIIAN RICE BOWL (ONE SERVING)

  • 1 ½ Cups Rice   ( See Cedar Key Rice Recipe)
  • 1/8 Cup Cedar Key Garlic Sauce 

Sauté the following three ingredients together in Olive Oil:

  • ½ Cup Sliced Onions
  • ½ Cup Sliced Mushrooms
  • ½ Cup Sugar Snap Peas or Snow Peas 
  • 1 TBS. Fresh Chopped Cilantro
  • 4 – 5 oz. Smoked Pork or Chicken
  • 2 TBS. Barbeque Sauce, preferably not sweet (we recommend a vinegar/mustard base Barbeque Sauce)
  • 1/8 Cup Fresh Diced Tomato
  • ¼ Cup Fresh Diced Pineapple
  • Garnish with Cedar Key Garlic Sauce using the squeeze bottle in the Starter Kit. 

Place your serving of the cooked seasoned Rice in your favorite bowl.   Squirt a layer of the Cedar Key Garlic Sauce (approx. 1/8 Cup) or more if you desire.  Then add the layer of the sautéed vegetables.

Now place the chopped Cilantro over top of the sautéed vegetables. Now place the Smoked Pork or Chicken on top of the Cilantro, add the Barbeque Sauce, fresh Diced Tomato and Pineapple.  Add a final drizzle of the Cedar Key Garlic Sauce using the squeeze bottle in the Starter Kit to make a recommended “crisscross” pattern for a beautiful presentation.  Or, be creative and make your own design.

 

Recipe # 11: GARLIC CHICKEN PASTA (ONE SERVING) 

Sauté the following ingredients in Olive Oil:

  • 1 Slice of Bacon diced small
  • ¼ Cup Chopped Onion
  • ¼ Cup Sliced Mushrooms 
  • 4 – 5oz. Sliced Chicken (use raw or cooked)
  • 2 Cups of Cooked Penne Pasta 
  • 2 TBS. Fresh Chopped Basil
  • ¾ Cup Half and Half Cream
  • 1 ½ TBS. Cedar Key Spice Garlic Seasoning
  • ¼ Cup Fresh Diced Tomato for Garnish

Once the Bacon, Onion and Mushrooms are sautéed to the desired tenderness, add the Chicken and Pasta.  Simmer until warm, and add the half and half cream, Cedar Key Spice Garlic Seasoning and the Fresh Basil.  Continue to simmer lightly until the Sauce thickens and coats Pasta.  Serve in your favorite bowl, topped with the Fresh Diced Tomatoes for garnish.
